Snetterton has a rich history of motorsport going right back to the early post-war days, and it is long-overdue that the venue had a full Historic festival to celebrate this heritage. Motor Racing Legends is absolutely thrilled to be adding this brand-new event, on the circuit’s ‘200’ configuration, to the sporting calendar.
Top billing for the weekend must go to the Amon Cup for Ford GT40s. The second round of this recent innovation for these iconic cars should prove a stunning spectacle at this rapid circuit.
Also appearing for its second round of the year will be the Royal Automobile Club Pall Mall Cup for Pre-’66 GTs, Touring Cars and Fifties Sports Cars. This three-hour race, with refuelling, will bring all the excitement of real endurance racing to Snetterton – a circuit long-associated with endurance events.
Pre-War cars featured strongly in the circuit’s early days, so it is only fitting that the Pre-War Sports Cars will have a 45-minte race during the weekend. And the same can be said for the 50s Sports Cars – in the form of a combined Royal Automobile Club Woodcote Trophy/Stirling Moss Trophy grid.
Perhaps best known in modern times as a Touring Car circuit, it is entirely fitting that Motor Racing Legends will be hosting a stand-alone race for the Sixties Touring Car Challenge with U2TC – welcoming under 2-Litre Touring cars from both the Pre-‘66 and Pre-’70 eras, plus a race for the Historic Touring Car Challenge with Tony Dron
