Thruxton Historic, Spa and Portimao Races

We are just days away from the long awaited green light for the Motor Racing Legends 2020 season – Thruxton Historic takes place this weekend!  Motor Racing Legends competitors from the UK and Europe have confirmed their dedication to our racing by supporting the meeting in good number and we proudly take four grids of quality to the Hampshire circuit.  Pre ’63 GT will get the weekend underway on Saturday with BTCC ace, Rory Butcher recently confirmed to join Motor Racing Legends for the first time paired with Jon Minshaw in his Jaguar E-type. The Woodcote Trophy and Stirling Moss Trophy race is set to be one of the most competitive of the weekend.  Touring car drivers from the Historic Touring Car Challenge, Tony Dron Trophy and Sixties Touring Car Challenge with U2TC have a double header of races to enjoy.  MRL Pre-War cars make their Thruxton debut on Sunday with a fabulous field of over twenty glorious sports cars from the 1920s and 30s in action.

We’d like to publicly thank all of the competitors supporting the meeting and look forward to welcoming them at the weekend.  Spectators are now welcome to attend but tickets must be purchased in advance, click here for further details.

Spa Six Hours & Algarve Classic Festival
We have two more iconic meetings in the calendar after Thruxton – the Spa Six Hours on September 25th – 27th and the Algarve Classic Festival on its new date of November 6th – 8th.

It will not have escaped your attention that both Belgium and Portugal are currently on the UK’s list of quarantined countries. Vincent Collard tells us that the Belgian government is making strong progress on controlling the current outbreak and that they expect restrictions to be lifted in the next week or two. We will of course be monitoring this very closely over the coming days. If the situation does not improve by the end of this month then we may be forced to reconsider our plans, but right now it remains our firm intention to run at both Spa and Portimao.
