Thruxton Historic 2021
First-Class Grids Come to the Fastest Circuit in the Country
MRL’s Pre-War Sports Cars Added to the Outstanding Programme
Thruxton Historic is a real rarity on the historic motorsport calendar combining an
old-school Club meeting atmosphere with a thrilling on-track challenge for the driver. Thruxton is nestled deep in the idyllic Hampshire country side yet well served by major transport routes. The circuit was opened in 1968; regarded as the fastest in the UK and is popular with adrenalin hungry racers.
The two-day weekend meeting on 12-13 June boasts a premier line up of races from Motor Racing Legends with hour long two-driver races for 1950s Sports Cars, Pre ’63 GT and the Jaguar Classic Challenge. Historic Touring Cars enjoy a double header of forty-minute races.
Following a fantastic response to our recent request to the Pre-War fraternity, we are delighted to announce that we are adding a forty-five minute race for Pre-War Sports Cars to the programme.
In more detail:
Royal Automobile Club Woodcote Trophy and Stirling Moss Trophy for 1950s Sports Cars and Sports Racing Cars – two driver, one hour race
Pre ’63 GT – two driver, one hour race
Jaguar Classic Challenge – two driver, one hour race
Pre-War Sports Cars – two driver, forty-five minute race
Historic Touring Cars featuring HTCC/Tony Dron Trophy/ STCC and U2TC – two, forty minute races open to two drivers
Support races include the exciting Jochen Rindt Trophy – a celebration of Formula 2, Historic and Classic F3’s, Formula Atlantic, and Formula Ford 2000 from the 60’s 70’s & 80’s – and from the Historic Racing Drivers Club, the ‘Jack Sears Trophy’, ‘Allstars’ and ‘Classic Alfa Challenge’.
An exciting addition to the programme is the Land Rover Legends show – the ultimate show for Land Rover enthusiasts will be taking place in the grounds of Thruxton and all spectators and competitors will be able to access the show free of charge.
Our races this year are proving extremely popular, with many of the Donington grids now sold-out. The Thruxton Historic will be no different, with grids filling up very nicely, so anyone wishing to be on the grid should submit their entries soon to avoid disappointment. Entries for Motor Racing Legends races are open, please click on the relevant series and follow links to entry forms and regulations.
