The year ahead for Historic Touring Cars and Tony Dron Trophy:

The Donington Historic Festival will mark the start of our season, with a full 60-minute race on Sunday morning over the Bank Holiday weekend of 3rd – 5th May. After Donington, competitors head to Hampshire for the Thruxton Motorsport Celebration on June 1st & 2nd. Expanding on last year’s fantastic event, the Touring Cars will have 2 x 40-minute races over the weekend. Both Donington and Thruxton are filling fast.

Our annual visit to Oulton Park will be at our AMOC Racing meeting on Friday/Saturday July 5th/6th this year, where we will be based in our usual post of the ‘Old Hall’ hospitality suite at the end of the pit lane. AMOC Racing events allow a wide range of racing from pre-War, 50s, pre-66 all the way up to current GT4 racing, so if you are interested in entering additional races please do check out the other grids. Next come two very exciting developments. Firstly, the Historic Touring Car Challenge and Tony Dron Trophy have been invited back to the Silverstone Classic for a consecutive year, following a long period with a bi-annual billing; the catalyst being a celebration of 50 years of the Ford Capri. This grid traditionally fills up quickly so please do get your entries in early. Silverstone Classic is over the 26th – 28th July.

Secondly, we have been granted our own one-hour race slot for the Touring Cars at the wonderful Spa Six Hour meeting on September 27th – 29th. We’ve being working for a long time to be able to take our own Touring Car slot at Spa and we’re thrilled that the organisers – Roadbook – have agreed to us doing so.

And we round out the season with our annual visit to the spectacular Algarve Classic Festival in Portugal. For this year the Historic Touring Cars and Tony Dron Trophy races will revert to the old format of 2 x 40-minute races, plus qualifying, plus a free practice session. With a hotel on the beach thrown in for every driver this meeting really is phenomenal value and great fun to boot.

We look forward to working with our new partners for the series, and to welcoming you all to the race paddock again this year. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions, otherwise we look forward to seeing you at Donington Park.
