Motor Racing Legends will be signing-off the 2022 season in style with an action-packed weekend on the Silverstone GP circuit on 22nd and 23rd October. Based in the International Paddock at the ‘Wing’, the meeting will feature four MRL grids covering seven of our race Series. The timetable for the weekend has now been published; and with just over four weeks to go, now is the time to submit your entries.
Eight Motor Racing Legends Series will feature over the two days of racing which is based in the International (Wing) Paddock.
The feature on Saturday will be the three-hour Royal Automobile Club Pall Mall Cup, the popular endurance race for Pre ’66 GT and Touring Cars and Pre ’61 Sports Racing Cars. So far this season, the spoils have gone to Jon Minshaw and Phil Keen’s Jaguar E-type (Donington Historic Festival) and Richard Cook and Harvey Stanley’s Shelby Cobra (Snetterton Historic 200). It’s all to play for at Silverstone – entries are open to two or three drivers per car in a grid that features in-race re-fuelling.
There is also the added value of the ‘team prize’ – get together with your friends in the race (one car per class, three cars per team) to be in the running for some fabulous trophies from the Royal Automobile Club – and maybe the Pall Mall Cup itself! After a mid-morning 50-minute qualifying, the race commences just before 3 o’clock, with what should be a scintillating finish into the sunset.
The Historic Touring Car Challenge with Tony Dron Trophy and Sixties Touring Car Challenge with U2TC will get Saturday underway with a one-hour race before the lunchbreak. Saturday also features the exciting GT Allcomers Challenge, organised by GT aficionado and friend of Motor Racing Legends, Roger Bennington. The series had a positive first race with us at Snetterton and we look forward to welcoming GT cars from all categories to the Silverstone GP weekend.
Sunday welcomes the Jaguar Classic Challenge back to UK soil, following the Series’ last appearance in support of the Le Mans Classic in July, for a one-hour race with a pit stop. Where better to enjoy your Jaguar than on the expanse of the Grand Prix circuit?
Also on Sunday, the Royal Automobile Club Woodcote Trophy and Stirling Moss Trophy will have their final outing for the season. Also a one-hour race, this promises to be an unmissable last race of the season.

The HRDC have three races on Sunday’s card including Dunlop Allstars and Classic Alfa Challenge, Jack Sears Trophy and the Gerry Marshall Trophy.
Motor Racing Legends’ Hospitality will be based upstairs within the ‘Wing’, overlooking the start/finish straight. Garages will be available to competitors in all MRL grids, with motorhome spaces also available.
Finally, the Saturday evening will feature a post-race drinks party and prize giving for the Royal Automobile Club Pall Mall Cup – all MRL Competitors are welcome!
