– Split-Start announced for late October Silverstone GP race
– Plans Afoot for Stand-Alone races for 2022 Season
– MRL Reaffirms Commitment to 1960s Touring Cars
Motor Racing Legends is excited to announce that the U2TC and Sixties Touring Car Challenge cars will benefit from a ‘split-start’ in the Historic Touring Car Challenge grid at the forthcoming Silverstone GP event on the last weekend in October.
U2TC and STCC cars will leave the line 30 seconds after the later Historic Touring Car Challenge and Tony Dron Trophy cars at the start of the hour-long challenge – the support race to the prestigious Royal Automobile Club Pall Mall Cup three-hour race on the second day of the 30th – 31st October Silverstone GP meeting.
The race has already attracted strong interest with an impressive grid of Historic Touring Cars; an independent start will give the U2TC and STCC cars a clear race on the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit.

For the 2022 Season, Motor Racing Legends will bring back stand-alone grids for the Sixties Touring Car Challenge and U2TC wherever possible. We’re working on the details of the 2022 calendar right now and will publish more details in due course.
U2TC is the much-loved series for Pre-’66 Under 2 Litre Touring Cars started by Carol Spagg. The Sixties Touring Car Challenge runs to the same rules, but extends eligibility to cars built before December 31st 1969.
Entries for Silverstone are closing soon, so come and join us for this final outing of the year with your Lotus Cortina, Mini, Alfa GTA, BMW Ti or Twin-Cam Escort.
