The Amon Cup for Ford GT40s : Series in the Spotlight

Two Legends to be Honoured

Chris Amon and the Ford GT40 will be forever associated with each other for the Ford 1-2-3 victory at Le Mans in 1966; and Motor Racing Legends’ launch of the Amon Cup – a dedicated one-make series for these cars to honour this association – has already caused quite a stir in the world of Historic motorsport. With the resumption of motorsport now approved, the countdown is on to the first ever round of the Amon Cup – to be held at the Donington Historic Festival on 1st & 2nd May

The Donington race will be run into the dusk on the Saturday evening, over a full eighty-minutes, and will include a pit stop and optional driver change. Qualifying for the race will take place that same morning.  With valued support from Series partners, DK Engineering,  owners of these iconic cars will relish the rare opportunity to contest the hallowed Donington Park track in a grid that will be a major highlight of an already stellar race line up.

The Amon Cup will be running again at the Motor Racing Legends end-of-year meeting on the Grand Prix circuit at Silverstone on the weekend of 30th and 31st October. Once again the grid will be one of the headline acts at this new meeting.

The Amon Cup is open to Ford GT40s running to Pre-’66 specification complying with FIA Appendix K and with a current HTP.
