Silverstone GP Meeting - 22nd - 23rd October - Final Call for Entries

In just a fortnight, the Motor Racing Legends Silverstone GP Meeting will be getting underway for a final show-down to conclude the 2022 racing year.

With a stunning bill of eight races over the weekend there truly is something for everyone to get out on-track and enjoy one last blast of the season!

Entries are coming in thick and fast with a now-typical late surge for the weekend’s races,  running on the full Grand Prix circuit and operating out of the International Paddock, ‘the Wing’, the event has all the hallmarks of another memorable weekend to close off the year and you can still be part of the action.

The first race of the weekend, MRL Historic Touring Car Challenge with Tony Dron Trophy & U2TC / STCC has attracted a strong line-up with good representation across all categories. This showcase race precedes the Royal Automobile Pall Mall Cup,  running just before the lunch break and giving a civilised early finish plus the chance to watch – or participate in – the three-hour race.

Feature of Saturday afternoon, the Royal Automobile Pall Mall Cup is developing into a typically eclectic grid comprising of Pre ’66 GT and Touring Cars, plus Pre ’61 Racing Cars and Pre ’63 GTs. The variety of eligible cars for the Pall Mall Cup is vast – from 2 Litre Porsche 911s, Pre ’66 Jaguars, Mustangs and Camaros, AC Cobras, Lotus Elan, MGB, Austin Healey and TVR…….

If you have a  Pre ’66 racing car in the garage it is likely to be eligible for this stellar three-hour race.  With ‘in-pit’ refuelling a total of 225 minutes of track time, and the option to race with two or three drivers,  is there are a better way to sign off the season than this thrilling endurance race with your mates?

Entrants can also challenge for the ‘Team Trophy’ with trophies and prizes awarded by the Royal Automobile Club.

Sunday racing features the Royal Automobile Club Woodcote Trophy & Stirling Moss Trophy grid which looks set to be a vintage conclusion to the season with entries from Lister Knobbly, Lotus XI, XV and XVII, Cooper Monaco and Lola Mk 1 in the Pre-’61 stakes.  From the Pre-’56 stable we welcome Jaguar XK120, Frazer Nash Le Mans Rep, Connaught, Aston Martin DB2, Allard and Jaguar D-type.

And the Jaguar Classic Challenge is set for its final swan-song of the season with a variety of Pre-’66 Jaguar E-types in action. Jaguar Mk I, Mk II, XK120 and XK140 are also eligible for this race.

In addition to all of this the GT Allcomers Challenge, organised by friends of Motor Racing Legends, the Stratton Motor Company, returns following the series debut at  Snetterton Historic 200. This grid is primarily aimed at ‘modern’ GT cars, but with a 30-minute qualifying, an hour long-race  with a pit-stop, and running unsilenced, any GT car, modern or classic is welcome for this single or two-driver race.  Click here to download an entry form.

Sunday’s programme also features three races from the HRDC including their ‘Allstars’, ‘Jack Sears Trophy’ and ‘Gerry Marshall Trophy’ grids. Contact the HRDC for more details.
