Silverstone Classic Cancelled for 2020

Just as the outlook was beginning to brighten, we are saddened to report that the Silverstone Classic has been cancelled for this year. We are of course extremely disappointed that we will not now get to race at this amazing event this summer as it was undoubtedly one of the highlights of our season. However we fully support Nick, Luke and their team at Goose Live Events with what must have been a very difficult decision and wish them all success with their plans for next year.

Despite this blow, there are positive movements afoot to re-ignite motorsport activity in the UK as soon as possible. Whilst limited track days and testing are now possible, circuit racing is still some weeks away yet. Right now much depends on what does – or does not – happen with the two Grand Prix races currently planned for Silverstone in July. Once that is finally settled, and the other major championships have agreed any revised calendars, then we’ll have a much clearer picture of what will be possible. So please rest assured that we are working hard on our plans to stage the Donington Historic Festival over the summer, and hopefully the Thruxton Historic too.
And on the Continent, both the Spa Six Hours (September 25th – 27th) and the Algarve Classic Festival (October 23rd – 25th) are fully expecting to take place on their original dates. There are obvious issues regarding quarantine restrictions for international travel, but let us hope that they have been resolved by then.
Until the next update, we sincerely hope you’re all keeping safe and well.
