Pre War Sports Car Series 2019

2019 is shaping up to be a very exciting year for Pre-War racing and we have three fabulous events lined up for the Motor Racing Legends Pre-War Sports Car series this year. The Bentley 100th Centenary celebrations are clearly reigniting a revival in pre-War competition helped along by the recent Silverstone Classic media day where Tom Kristensen tried out Eddie McGuire’s Blower Bentley (picture above).

The ‘Mad Jack’ grid at the Donington Historic Festival on May 1st – 3rd is looking very strong. This 40-minute pit-stop race on Saturday afternoon will have a 25-minute qualifying session on Friday morning. The grid includes a fabulous line-up of Bentley, Morgan, Frazer Nash and an incredible seven Aston Martin models – including the ‘Red Dragon’ of Alan Middleton.

What’s more: the circuit have invited all drivers at the Festival to a free Drinks Reception on Friday evening in the paddock, with canapés and live music – all guaranteed to appeal to the Pre-War crowd!

After Donington, the focus of the Centenary celebrations will be on Silverstone Classic on July 26-28th for the Bentley Centenary Race combined with our traditional Kidston Trophy for all Pre-War Sports Cars. The Classic will be pulling out all the Centenary stops, with the race running early Saturday evening and being promoted as one of the feature races of the meeting.

Our third and final outing for Pre-War Sports cars will be at the Spa Six Hour meeting on September 27th – 29th.  After the massive success of last year, we will be repeating the format of a 40-minute pit stop race on Friday evening with 25 minutes of qualifying in the morning, allowing anyone also running in other races to concentrate on these the next day. As usual we will have our two-story hospitality box overlooking Eau Rouge providing hospitality throughout the event, and a party on the Saturday night to watch the famous Spa Six Hours race run into the night.
