New Year, New Face, New Series!

Happy New Year to all our competitors. We hope you all survived the party season and are busy buffing up your classic cars ready for the forthcoming race season. We are looking forward to seeing many of you at our annual Awards Dinner next week at the Royal Automobile Club in Pall Mall – already bursting at the seams and shaping up to be a fantastic evening.
In readiness for the new season, we have two important announcements to make. Firstly, that Motor Racing Legends are to take on the responsibility for running both U2TC, for under two litre touring cars, and the Pre-63 GT series on behalf of Carol Spagg. Carol will retain her involvement in shaping the regulations and entry selection, but we will be organising the circuits, the entries and the hospitality under her watchful eye. We have, of course, worked with Carol for many years so the fit is almost perfect.

As a result of this exciting collaboration, our classic race portfolio will increase to six popular well-established grids, allowing us to combine hospitality and share team support at each meeting.

And secondly, we were absolutely delighted to welcome Gillian Carr to the Motor Racing Legends team in December. Gillian is, of course, well known to many of you as a pre-War racer and from her work with the VSCC, HGPCA and BRDC. She will be a valuable asset helping us to grow and manage our grids.

We can tell you that both the U2TC and Pre-63GT series will start the season at the Donington Historic Festival in May (3 – 5). Pre-‘63 GT will continue to be supported by DK Engineering and will run as the RAC Historic Tourist Trophy at the Silverstone Classic in July (26 – 28). U2TC will also run at the new Thruxton Celebration Meeting in June (1 & 2) and keep its traditional Spa Six Hours race slot on a later-than-usual September (27 – 29). Both grids end their season at the Algarve Classic Festival in November (1 – 3). U2TC will have two 40-minute races where possible and Pre-63 GT will have one-hour races, except at Silverstone where the race will be 50 minutes.

We are all keen to get more information to you all as soon as possible, so entry forms and regulations will be issued by early February and everything will be available to download from the relevant pages on this website.
