Motor Racing Legends 2020 Season Race Entries Are Now Open!

The start of the 2020 Motor Racing Legends season is just around the corner.
All seven of our race series will feature across five fantastic events in 2020 and we are pleased to announce that entries to all races are now open.

The season will get off to a roaring start at Donington Historic Festival on 1-3 May followed by a rejuvenated Thruxton Historic on 6-7 June.  With Silverstone Classic celebrating its 30th anniversary during this year’s edition on 31 July, 1-2 August, the season will conclude on the continent firstly at the unmissable Spa Six Hour meeting on 25-27 September and finally in the Portuguese sunshine for the Algarve Classic Festival on 23-25 October.

2020 Entry Forms and Series Regulations
We have a new, streamlined online race entry system which covers all our race series with one single form. Whether you are entering just one series or all seven, the online form will take you through every series you wish to enter, one at a time. The Regulations, the On-line Entry Form, and the more traditional format PDFs can all be accessed through our website. Simply click on the top menu ‘RACE SERIES’ or use the left hand side short-cuts to the first series you wish to enter and look for the ‘ENTER ONLINE’ button.

Motor Racing Legends Club
The launch of the Motor Racing Legends Club has been very well received, with membership numbers already in the hundreds. Please remember that membership is now a requirement for entry to our events. Each race entry form -whether online or PDF – has a membership section for anyone who has not yet joined, or you can join by clicking here.

Race Entry Fee Discounts
Don’t forget there are healthy discounts for entering before April 3rd. Also – anyone participating in all rounds of a race series will be eligible for a full refund on their 2020 season Club Membership Fees.

HP Tyres & the Historic Touring Car Challenge
We’re delighted to announce an extended association with tyre-supplier HP Tyres. With virtually all our grids running Dunlop tyres already, for 2020 cars in the Historic Touring Car Challenge must now run tyres from either Goodyear or Dunlop ranges, with wet-weather tyre choice remaining free. The sole nominated tyre supplier & service provider is HP Tyres. A tyre order form can be found appended to the Race Series Entry Form.

And for both HTCC and the Tony Dron Trophy we have introduced a new regulation stipulating that the owner must drive a minimum of 50% of the race duration.

Sixties Touring Car Challenge with U2TC
Our newly-launched Sixties Touring Car Challenge is looking set for a very exciting first season, with a number of cars in build right now. For both U2TC and the Sixties Touring Car Challenge, our regulations now permit the option of electronic ignition. This move will make life much easier for teams wanting to participate with multiple organisers through the season. Please note that an MRL Engine Capacity Certificate is now required for the Sixties Touring Car Challenge for this season.

Pre ’63 GT
An MRL Engine Capacity Certificate will NOT be required for this season. However it is likely to become a mandatory requirement from 2021. We welcome any views on this point.

2020 is clearly going to be a busy and exciting season and we all look forward to seeing you in the paddock at Donington. If you have any queries in the meantime then please don’t hesitate to contact Gillian Carr at gillian@motorracinglegends.com or myself at duncan@motorracinglegends.com.
