2018 Season - Pre-War Car News

We have two very special races lined up for the Motor Racing Legends Pre-War Sports Car series this year. What’s more, HP Tyres tell us they are now stocking all the major sizes of the Dunlop Historic tyres for our pre-war cars – good news for us all.

The 2018 season for the Pre-War Sports Cars kicks off with the ‘Mad Jack’ at the Donington Historic Festival on May 4th – 6th – a 40-minute pit-stop race on the Saturday with 25 minutes of qualifying on Friday. The Mad Jack has been a staple feature of the Donington Historic Festival since its inception in 2011 and we’re delighted to be coming back to this superb circuit – now of course under new ownership.

MSV have already instigated a massive programme of infrastructure improvements at Donington which include tarmacking the remainder of the paddock at last. Once again, we’ll be sharing our paddock hospitality with the GT & Sports Car Cup and holding a joint drinks party at the track on the Friday night.

We are very proud to confirm that our second outing will be on September 14th – 16th at the great Spa Six Hour meeting, with a 40-minute pit stop race and 25 minutes of qualifying. We have long campaigned for the Pre-War cars to return to this most awesome circuit (it’s been nine long years since we last ran these cars here). To make it possible, Roadbook – the Spa Six Hours Organisers – have been given special dispensation by the RAC de Belge to run our race on the Friday afternoon, with qualifying in the morning. This will allow anyone also running in the Woodcote Trophy, the Stirling Moss Trophy or the Six Hours to concentrate on these races the next day.

If you have never been to Spa-Francorchamps then you won’t have experienced the most exciting circuit in Europe; and the Six Hour meeting is the jewel in their historic crown. Motor Racing Legends has had, for some years now, use of the most fabulous two-story hospitality box overlooking Eau Rouge where we provide not just our own hospitality throughout the event, but a party on the Saturday night to watch the famous Spa Six Hours race run into the night.

Pre-War Regulations and Entry Forms are now available to download.

And for any competitors looking for more outings for their pre-War cars, Motor Racing Legends have recently taken over AMOC Racing. The 2018 Pre-War Team Challenge will be running at three of the AMOC Racing meetings – Donington (29th July), Snetterton (1st September) and Silverstone (6thOctober). Take a look at www.amocracing.com for more information.
