Motor Racing Legends To Run AMOC Racing

MRL-AMOC

Motor Racing Legends is proud to announce that we have taken over responsibility for managing and promoting the AMOC Racing programme for 2017 and beyond. This is a tremendous opportunity to finish work we started with AMOC a few years ago.

Those of you who have participated in AMOC Racing events will know it offers great value, competitive racing in a very friendly environment, and we are privileged to be entrusted with this responsibility. AMOC Racing compliments perfectly the racing that Motor Racing Legends offers and for those who want more racing in the year, offers you the chance to do just that.

AMOC Racing has an unparalleled spread of races, covering everything from Pre-War Sports Cars to brand new GT4 Aston Martins, and plenty in between. In addition to the Aston Martin GT Challenge, and the revered AMOC Intermarque Championship, the programme also includes races from Equipe GTS and, of course, a round of our own Historic Touring Car Challenge in the calendar. But perhaps of interest to most MRL racers are the grids for pre-War sports cars; ‘50s Sports cars; and pre-’66 GT and touring cars. Any of you with appropriate cars are very welcome to participate.

Full details of the calendar, each series, and entry forms can be found on the AMOC Racing website: www.amocracing.com

AMOC Racing Calendar
We will be running four meeting for AMOC Racing this year:

Oulton Park International – May 13th

Snetterton 300 – July 8th

Brands Hatch Indy – August 12th

Silverstone National – September 30th

Pre-War Team Challenge

The Pre-War Team Challenge is for road-going pre-War sports cars; each race runs for 20 minutes as a ‘staggered start’ handicap race. We will revert to the old format of teams of three cars which worked so well for many years. There will be three rounds this year – Oulton Park, Brands Hatch and Silverstone.

AMOC 50s Sports Cars

This series is for appendix K compliant sports cars and runs to a 30-minute, single driver format. The series incorporates the Vredestein JEC XK Challenge, as has happened very successfully for the past five years. The 50s Sports cars will run at all four AMOC Racing meetings this year – OultonPark, Snetterton, Brands Hatch and Silverstone.

Innes Ireland Trophy

The Innes Ireland is for all pre-’66 GT and touring cars, running to Appendix K. Each race runs for 45 minutes and features a compulsory pit stop and optional driver change. The Series will run three times this year – at Oulton Park, Snetterton and Brands Hatch.

Equipe GTS
We have also been working closely with the team from Equipe GTS – the very successful series for FiA pre’66 GT and GTS cars under 2700cc – who have just launched a new 3 Hour Classic Relay to be run at the Silverstone AMOC Racing meeting on September 30th. Based on a series of races at Sebring in the 1960s, the race is for teams of between 2 and 4 cars and will work on a handicap system to ensure close finishes through the field. The brochure can be downloaded HERE or visit the website at www.equipeclassicracing.com for more details.
