The 2017 season kicks off for both Stirling Moss Trophy and the Royal Automobile Club Woodcote Trophy at the Donington Historic Festival (April 28-30). Both grids were very well supported last year with a wonderful mix of stunning cars in both series. For 2017 the format of this event has changed, bringing qualifying for all grids forward to Friday and allowing nothing but racing on Saturday and Sunday; keeping their Bank Holiday Monday for relaxing! The Donington Historic Festival timetable is now available on our website. Click HERE to download.
In May we will be returning to the Masters Historic Festival at Brands Hatch (May 27- 28) offering competitors a rare opportunity to drive the full 2.4 mile Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit, where both Stirling Moss Trophy and the Royal Automobile Club Woodcote Trophy will have dedicated 60 minute races, with qualifying on the Saturday and racing on the Sunday for all our grids.
One of the major highlights of 2017 will be our return to the Silverstone Classic (July 28-30) here both the Woodcote Trophy and Stirling Moss Trophy races take centre stage at this premium international event on the Historic Grand Prix circuit which this year produced two thrilling races of fabulous cars and remarkably close competitive racing.
Later this month, competitors entered in July’s Silverstone Classic from the Stirling Moss Trophy, Woodcote Trophy and Pre-War Sports Car grids, will all get the opportunity for free testing on the Silverstone Historic Grand Prix circuit at the Silverstone Classic media day on March 23rd. If you haven’t already booked your space, places are highly sought after but you can still enter – click HERE to download the form from our website.
In September, we head to the Ardennes in Belgium for the nostalgic Spa Six Hour Meeting(September 15 – 17), here both 50s Sports cars grids will combine, as usual, for one magnificent 60 minute race on the full alpine circuit.
We round off the year with some autumn sunshine in Portugal, for the Algarve Classic Festival in Portimão (October 27 – 29). Here the Woodcote Trophy and Stirling Moss Trophy run together as the MRL 50s Sports Car race for a true taste of endurance, with our race for a full two hours into the dusk on Saturday evening. This race always produces an exciting result – last year being a real cracker and including a change of leader just 4 minutes from the flag!
