Motor Racing Legends Takes Group C to Le Mans

© Malcolm BryanThis year’s historic support race at the Le Mans 24 Hours, organised by Motor Racing Legends, is for the fabulous Group C endurance racers from the 1980s and early 1990s. On the morning of June 14th, the Le Mans crowds will see a large field of these cars assembling on the grid for a 40-minute race – cars which for many epitomise the most exciting era of sportscar racing.

As regular Le Mans-goers will know, the historic support race – run on the full 8.5-mile circuit and commencing with a traditional rolling start – is one of the highlights of the weekend and a vital part of the Le Mans experience.

As Motor Racing Legends’ Duncan Wiltshire puts it, “The historic race we run each year is an emotional, as well as an exciting, event. For younger spectators it might be a first introduction to the history of the greatest endurance race in the world while, for older spectators, it could be a poignant reunion with the cars they saw racing in their heyday.”

The grid for 2008 is being put together by Group C Racing, and potential competitors should contact them directly. See www.groupcracing.com.
