Excitement is already building for the prestigious Silverstone Classic meeting on 27-29 July, at which Motor Racing Legends is running two races: the Royal Automobile Club Woodcote Trophy (for genuine pre-1956 sports-racers), and the BRDC 500 (for pre-War cars).
At the official launch of the 2007 event, cars representing each of the races being held over the three-day Classic gathered at the circuit – including a D-type Jaguar which will be competing in the Woodcote Trophy and the ex-works MG ‘Cream Cracker’ team car which will take to the track for the BRDC 500. Meanwhile, the Bentley 3 Litre of Motor Racing Legends Chairman Duncan Wiltshire could be seen on several flying laps of the Historic Grand Prix circuit… no doubt putting in some early practice.
The Silverstone Classic promises to be a fabulous event for both participants and spectators, as Derek Bell confirmed at the launch: “It’s a fantastic event, and as a spectator you can wander around the paddock and walk right up to the cars. There’s a great atmosphere, both on and off the track.”
Spectator tickets cost £15 for the Friday and £20 for the Saturday and Sunday if booked in advance (£20 on the Friday and £25 on the Saturday and Sunday if bought on the day).
